Country-specific schistosomiasis risk and recommendations 2023

NaTHNaC have reviewed and updated schistosomiasis country-specific information recommendations with UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).

The following countries have had the schistosomiasis categorisation changed:

China, Guadeloupe, Indonesian Borneo, Oman, Saint Lucia and Saudi Arabia.

In addition, NaTHNaC has included the following countries in this update:

French Guiana, Guyana, Lesotho, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam.

Although not considered by the World Health Organization to be risk countries they are in close proximity to countries with known schistosomiasis risk.
