As of 20 January 2024, the World Health Organization has reported rapid expansion of the cholera outbreak in Zambia. A total of 10,887 cases and 432 deaths have been reported since this outbreak started in October 2023. Cases have been reported in nine of the country's 10 provinces, with Lusaka, Central and Eastern worst affected and Lusaka district described as the outbreak epicentre.

The cholera outbreak in Zambia continues to expand, affecting a total of 39 districts in nine provinces. As of 11 January 2024, the Ministry of Health has reported 8,276 cumulative cases and 333 deaths. 94% of all confirmed cases and 97% of all deaths occurred in Lusaka Province.

Between October 2023 and 2 January 2024, 3,757 confirmed cases of cholera with 128 deaths have been reported. Zambia has experienced multiple cholera outbreaks since January 2023, affecting 20 districts, including Lusaka, where in just a week an increase of 71.2% in cases was reported.
