Lassa fever in Nigeria
As of 18 January 2024, in the first week of 2024, 53 confirmed cases have been reported from 9 states, including 6 deaths. This compares to 29 confirmed cases (including 8 deaths) reported from 6 states in the first week of 2023. Cumulatively, 9,155 suspected cases, 1,270 confirmed cases and 227 deaths were reported for 2023 (across 28 states and 124 LGAs).
